Service Delivery Options
Telehealth or In-Person
If you are living with alcohol dependency, you can begin your withdrawal process safely at home. Our expert-led service provides comprehensive medical care and daily guidance throughout your detox. We support you to withdraw in comfort and privacy, with a focus on your safety and well-being. We offer two ways to complete your in-home detox: telehealth or in-person care. Both options follow the same structured medical protocol, ensuring you receive consistent, comprehensive support from start to finish.
Telehealth
Delivered through secure video consultations, this option is available Australia-wide. It’s best suited for lower-risk cases and offers convenience without compromising on care. You’ll be reviewed daily by our doctor, with 24/7 support as needed.
In-Person
If you live on the Gold Coast or can arrange temporary accommodation, our in-person program provides the gold standard of home detox care. A qualified healthcare professional will visit you daily to monitor your progress, with hands-on support throughout your detox.
What To Expect At Each Stage
A Step-by-Step Guide To Your Alcohol Home Detox

Stage 1. Preparation (1—2 weeks)
Before we begin your detox, we take several important steps to ensure everything is safe, supported, and tailored to you.
Your journey starts with a free comprehensive medical assessment with our doctor. We’ll take the time to understand your health history and relationship with alcohol, so we can design a personalised home detox plan that meets your individual needs.
We’ll also meet with your nominated support person, explaining their role and answering any questions they may have. This person plays an important part in helping you stay safe and comfortable throughout the detox process.
You’ll then need to complete routine blood tests and begin taking vitamin B1 (thiamine) — an essential vitamin that helps protect your brain during alcohol withdrawal.
There’s usually about a one-to-two-week preparation period between your first appointment and the start of your detox. This gives your body time to build up essential vitamin stores and allows us to review your blood test results, finalise your medications, and make sure everything is in place for a safe and supported detox at home. Although you’ll continue drinking during this time, every step you take now is preparing you for success

Stage 2. In-Home Detox (1 week)
Each morning you’ll have a scheduled appointment with our doctor to check on your progress, manage any withdrawal symptoms or cravings, and adjust your medications if needed. You’ll also receive ongoing support throughout the day, with regular check-ins to ensure you remain comfortable, safe, and well cared for.
You and your support person will have direct access to our doctor at all times during the detox. If any questions or concerns arise, help is just a phone call away.
The entire process takes place in the privacy and comfort of your own home—no hospitals, waiting rooms, or prying eyes. This discreet, medically supervised detox allows you to maintain your routine and responsibilities while receiving high-quality care, so you can begin your path to a healthier life with dignity and support.
Stage 3. Post-Detox Support (12 months)
We understand that detox is just the first step toward lasting change—and you won’t be doing it alone.
Together, we’ll create a personalised support plan that reflects your goals, lifestyle, and preferences. This plan will include follow-up with your GP, as well as detailed discharge summaries and referrals to trusted partners for things like mental health support, group programs, or other local services. We’ll help you find whatever will keep you on track and suit your preferences.
Over the next 12 months, we’ll check in with you regularly to celebrate your progress, work through any challenges, and adjust your plan as life evolves. You’ll continue to have access to our team for clinical guidance and support throughout your journey.
Eligibility
To ensure your safety, you must have a support person who can remain with you during the seven-day withdrawal period. This is usually a loved one or close friend who you want to be involved in your care. They don’t need any medical training. They just need to keep a close eye on you and contact our doctor if they have any questions or concerns.
