We’re proud to share that AIR Detox has been invited to join the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Partnership Group as part of the implementation of the Gold Coast Joint Regional Plan for Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Alcohol and Other Drug Services 2025–2028.
What Is the Gold Coast Joint Regional Plan?
The Joint Regional Plan (JRP) is a collaborative initiative between Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN), Gold Coast Health, local service providers, and people with lived and living experience. The partnership also includes representation from First Nations peoples to ensure that cultural knowledge, community priorities, and strengths-based approaches remain central to service design and delivery.
The plan outlines four key focus areas to guide system-wide improvements:
- Access – Making it easier for people to find and use the right care at the right time
- Integration – Improving collaboration and continuity across the system
- Experience – Ensuring care is person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally safe
- Outcomes – Strengthening accountability and using data to improve services
Our inclusion in the AOD Partnership Group reflects AIR Detox’s ongoing commitment to driving innovation, expanding access, and improving care for people affected by alcohol and other drugs.
Improving Access Through Our Fully Funded Home Alcohol Detox Pilot
One of the key ways we are already supporting the goals of the Joint Regional Plan is through our fully funded home alcohol detox pilot program, delivered in partnership with GCPHN, QuIHN, and Lives Lived Well.
This innovative program improves access to care by supporting people to safely withdraw from alcohol in the comfort and privacy of their own home. It is built around strong clinical integration, with referrals and ongoing rehabilitation support from QuIHN and Lives Lived Well, and prioritises a high-quality experience through compassionate, non-judgemental care.
Driving Better Outcomes Through Data and Integration
Throughout the pilot, we are collecting outcome data to:
- Continually strengthen our model
- Respond to community needs
- Demonstrate the program’s impact
Our goal is to secure further funding so that more people across the Gold Coast can access safe, effective in-home detox services without cost being a barrier.
Looking Ahead
We are honoured to be part of the Gold Coast AOD Partnership Group and to collaborate with other sector leaders in shaping a more connected, inclusive, and person-centred AOD system. By combining lived experience, clinical expertise, cultural insight, and strong partnerships, we can create sustainable improvements in how alcohol and other drug services are delivered across the Gold Coast.
